# Where to Submit Your Startup > A free public list of 185 places to submit a startup (directories, launch sites, communities, and editorial sites), at submitmystartup.com. I try each place by submitting my own site to it and record what happened; I have tried 154 so far. Updated 2026-10-04. Each place has the public list's notes plus structured facts: whether it is free and the catch, which products, audiences, and regions it takes, what the free path requires (account, badge, domain email, upvotes, phone), and the wait until a listing is live. A fact that is not on record is null, never guessed. Rules change, so check a site before relying on a fact. ## API and MCP - [API and MCP docs](https://submitmystartup.com/api/): how to use the JSON API and the MCP server, and how to add the server to Claude, ChatGPT, and other clients. Free, read-only, no key. - [MCP server](https://submitmystartup.com/mcp): remote MCP over Streamable HTTP, no authentication. Tools: find_directories (ranked shortlist for a product: type, B2B or B2C, country, budget, badge, domain email, wait), get_directory (every fact about one place), list_filters (allowed values), search (keyword search that returns ids, titles, and links), and fetch (one place's full record as text). Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http submitmystartup https://submitmystartup.com/mcp`. - [MCP server card](https://submitmystartup.com/.well-known/mcp.json): the server's name, version, and endpoint as JSON, in the MCP Registry's server.json shape. - [All places (JSON)](https://submitmystartup.com/api/v1/directories.json): every entry with its facts. - [One place (JSON)](https://submitmystartup.com/api/v1/directories/{id}.json): one entry by id. - [Metadata (JSON)](https://submitmystartup.com/api/v1/meta.json): counts, allowed filter values, field reference, and license. ## Website - [All sites](https://submitmystartup.com/): the full list as a checklist. - [Bundles](https://submitmystartup.com/bundles/): shorter lists of places. - [Blog](https://submitmystartup.com/blog/): guides and what I learned submitting. ## Source and license - [The list on GitHub](https://github.com/mmmmingos/where-to-submit-your-startup): the public README is the source of truth.
